Guizhou Chili Belt Drying Production Line Officially Commences

Recently, a large-scale biomass pellet heat source chili drying equipment, custom-built by Jinlu Machinery Co., Ltd. for a large-scale chili processing company in Guizhou, officially commenced operation, marking a new milestone in Guizhou’s chili drying technology. This specialized drying equipment, measuring 13 meters long and 2.3 meters wide, with a six-layer structure, has become a key driver of the green upgrade of the local chili industry with its significant advantages in energy efficiency, environmental protection, and emission reduction.

1.Innovative Design Meets the Needs of Large-Scale Production

This customized drying equipment utilizes Jinlu Machinery’s newly developed “multi-layer three-dimensional drying” technology. Its six-layer drying structure can handle up to 5 tons of fresh chili peppers at a time, increasing production capacity by over 300% compared to traditional drying equipment. The equipment’s large drying chamber, measuring 13 meters long and 2.3 meters wide, is particularly suitable for large-scale continuous drying of specialty varieties such as Guizhou’s Chaotian and string peppers.

The equipment is equipped with an intelligent temperature control system that automatically adjusts drying parameters based on the chili variety and initial moisture content, ensuring uniform drying quality. The drying temperature can be precisely controlled within a range of 50-130°C, meeting the temperature requirements of each drying stage from initial drying to final drying. Compared to traditional coal-fired drying methods, this equipment utilizes a hot air circulation system generated by the combustion of biomass pellets, increasing thermal efficiency to over 90% and reducing energy consumption by approximately 50%.

 

2.Biomass Energy Supports Green Production

The equipment’s greatest technical highlight lies in its use of biomass pellets as a heat source. The fuel is primarily derived from agricultural waste, such as local crop straw and chili stalks. According to data from the Zunyi Municipal Agricultural Commission, using biomass fuel saves approximately 90 yuan per kilo of chili compared to traditional coal-fired heating, while also achieving zero carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide emissions, offering significant environmental benefits.

The Technical Director of Jinlu Machinery explained, “We have equipped this equipment with a patented flue gas treatment system, including a three-stage purification process consisting of cyclone dust removal, water film dust removal, and activated carbon adsorption, ensuring emissions fully meet national environmental standards for Class I areas.” The ash generated during operation can also be directly returned to the fields as high-quality potash fertilizer, achieving resource recycling.

 

3.Boosting the Quality and Efficiency of Guizhou’s Chili Pepper Industry

The implementation of this equipment has effectively addressed the challenges of traditional chili pepper drying, including low efficiency, high energy consumption, significant pollution, and inconsistent quality. According to company representatives, the new equipment has reduced the drying cycle from the traditional 72 hours to less than 10 hours. The finished chili peppers are brighter in color and have significantly improved quality, enhancing their market competitiveness.

A representative from the Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stated that the widespread adoption of this type of large-scale biomass drying equipment will significantly promote the scale, standardization, and green development of Guizhou’s chili pepper industry, providing solid technical support for the development of the “Guizhou Chili” brand.
