Last night, a 6-meter-long, 2.2-meter-wide, five-layer coal-fired mesh belt dryer, independently developed and produced by China Jinlu Machinery, officially began shipping to Nigeria, a major agricultural country in West Africa. This equipment will be used for large-scale drying of sorghum crops, helping local farmers and processing companies overcome the challenge of drying crops during the rainy season and improving grain storage quality and economic benefits.

1.High Efficiency and Energy Saving, Adapting to African Market Demand

The exported mesh belt dryer features a multi-layer, three-dimensional design (five layers) and fully utilizes a hot air circulation system, achieving efficient drying within a compact 6 x 2.2 meter space. It can process up to 12 sorghum stalks per day. Its unique coal-fired dual-fuel system adapts to Nigeria’s local energy mix, reducing operating costs while avoiding reliance on a single energy source. It is particularly suitable for rural areas with weak power infrastructure.

2.Addressing the Pain Points of Sorghum Drying and Reducing Post-Harvest Losses

Nigeria is one of Africa’s major sorghum producers, but traditional drying methods are susceptible to weather conditions, leading to mold and insect infestation. This equipment uses intelligent temperature control (adjustable from 40-80°C) and uniform air distribution technology to quickly reduce sorghum moisture to safe levels (≤14%) while preserving kernel nutrients and significantly reducing post-harvest losses. A customer commented, “This Chinese dryer will help us overcome seasonal limitations, achieve stable processing year-round, and enhance our international competitiveness.”

3.Chinese Intelligent Manufacturing Deepens African Agricultural Modernization

Jinlu Machinery, a leading Chinese agricultural machinery company, has exported drying equipment to over 30 countries worldwide. This collaboration is another achievement of the company’s “Customized Africa Solutions.” The equipment features optimized rust-resistant materials and easy-to-maintain structures for Nigeria’s high-temperature and high-humidity environment, and includes localized operator training. In the future, the company plans to establish a service center in Nigeria to further ensure the long-term operation of the equipment.

With the Belt and Road Initiative deeply aligned with the needs of African agricultural modernization, China’s efficient and durable agricultural machinery is rapidly entering African fields. The successful export of this sorghum dryer not only injects new impetus into Nigeria’s grain industry chain but also sets a benchmark for green and practical technology in China-Africa agricultural cooperation.
