Jinlu Machinery’s 18-Meter Biomass Pellet-Powered Cassava Dryer Ships to Peru, Boosting Agricultural Deep Processing Upgrades in South America
Today, an 18-meter biomass pellet-powered mesh-belt cassava dryer—independently developed and manufactured by Jinlu Machinery—was successfully loaded for transport at the company’s facility in Henan. The unit has officially set sail for Peru. This shipment represents another major export order to the South American market for Jinlu Machinery this year, signifying further international recognition of the company’s technical prowess in drying equipment for high-moisture and high-starch materials.
As a globally significant source of starch and animal feed ingredients, fresh cassava roots possess a moisture content ranging from 60% to 70% and are rich in starch. Traditional sun-drying methods are not only time-consuming and labor-intensive but are also highly susceptible to adverse weather conditions—such as rain—which can easily lead to mold growth. Furthermore, improper temperature control during the drying process can trigger starch gelatinization, thereby compromising the quality of the final product. To address these critical industry challenges, Jinlu Machinery custom-engineered this extra-long, 18-meter mesh-belt dryer specifically for its Peruvian client. The system features a multi-stage, tandem mesh-belt structure combined with a layered airflow design; hot air penetrates the material bed from the bottom up, layer by layer. This process ensures efficient moisture removal while preventing the material’s surface from being exposed to sudden, extreme heat, thereby guaranteeing uniform heating throughout the cassava slices—both internally and externally—and resulting in a finished product with stable color and a low gelatinization rate.
According to the manufacturer, the equipment utilizes biomass pellets as a clean fuel source, achieving a thermal efficiency exceeding 85%. This represents a significant reduction in operating costs compared to traditional coal-fired or oil-fired dryers. The entire machine is equipped with an intelligent temperature control system capable of real-time monitoring and automatic adjustment of both air temperature and airflow within each drying zone. The user interface is simple and intuitive, allowing local operators to quickly master the system. During the final acceptance inspection, the Peruvian client remarked: “Jinlu Machinery’s solution has fully taken into account the unique characteristics of cassava—specifically its high viscosity and high moisture content. The 18-meter length of the machine ensures ample drying time, and both the production capacity and product quality have far exceeded our expectations.”
The shipment of this 18-meter cassava dryer marks another significant breakthrough for Jinlu Machinery in the South American market, following a series of successful export batches to Southeast Asia and Africa earlier in 2025. In recent years, Jinlu Machinery has continued to deepen its expertise in the field of agricultural product drying. The company has developed a series of mesh-belt drying systems specifically designed for high-moisture materials—such as cassava, waxy corn, and marigolds—and its products are now exported to over a dozen countries and regions. A company representative stated that, moving forward, the firm will remain driven by technological innovation to provide global clients with even more efficient, energy-saving, and stable drying solutions.
